Adult Psychotherapy
My approach to therapy
I believe that cultivating a healthy relationship with yourself, is the first step to healing. My approach to therapy is eclectic, tailoring your experience to your individual needs.I will collaborate with you on identifying your short and long term goals for our work , while providing unconditional positive regard, and will support you on your journey towards understanding and connecting with your needs, as well as learning how to provide for them accordingly.
My Frameworks for treatment
I practice using a trauma informed foundation and utilize a variety of theoretical approaches. I use a Gestalt Therapy framework in sessions, which includes engaging in experiential activities during the session. I also practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Mindfulness, and provide education about matters related to mental health. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and use it to help individual to access and process traumatic memories and adverse life experiences. When working with individuals struggling with alcohol/alcohol use, and varied addictions, I use a harm reduction approach, and am also knowledgeable about 12 step programs. I follow Health At Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating frameworks when working with individuals toward fostering a healthy relationship with their bodies.
